What's Happening in Scotland


In Edinburgh:

  • Edinburgh Royal Observatory.  Learn about light in the discovery zone and look at the exhibits.  www.roe.ac.uk.  Cost: :  £3.50 Adults, £2.50 children, £8 family.

East Lothian:

  • Museum of Flight.  Visit the Concord Exhibition and poke around the museum to see all sorts of planes used in the past. Call for appointment (01620-880308)  www.nms.ac.uk  A good, fun day. :  £5 Adults, children aged 12 and under, free..

Fife: 

Dundee:

  • Sensation, Greenmarket, Dundee.  Everything is interactive.  Kids love the gyroscope and the chance to try out keyhole surgery.  www.sensation.org.uk  :  £6.60 Adults, £4.50 children, under 4s free, family £20.

Invernessshire:

  • Landmark Forest Theme Park:  rides include Water Coaster, Skydive and Pinnacle which should raise the heart rate considerably.  www.landmarkcentre.co.uk. :  £9.45 Adults, £7.40 children, senior £6.90, family group £8.70 and child group £6.75.

Aviemore:

  • Visit Scotland’s Reindeer at the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre.  Great fun for children.  www.reindeercompany.demon.co.uk.  Cost:  £8 Adults, £4 children.

Dunoon, Argyll:

  • Benmore Botanic Garden, magnificent woodlands garden—great walks for children, www.rbge.org.uk.  Cost:  £3.50 adults, £1 children.
